Dr. Rahma Mahamid

Rahma received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Haifa, Israel, in 2012, and she graduated her master’s degree in Gerontology with honors from the same university in 2015.

 she conducted her PhD research on “aging in the shadow of long-term intimate violence in Arab family” under the supervision of Prof. Tova Band-Winterstein, in the Department of Gerontology, the University of Haifa in 2022, rahma is  a member of the Minerva Center on Intersectionality in Ageing. and  is also a member of the “Regional Research and Development center – Triangle”, facilitated by the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology.

Her research topics are Aging in the shadow of long-term intimate violence in Arab family: Family members’ perspectives;

Students of Social Work willingness to work with the Elders; Aging in Arab culture; Willingness to turn to traditional treatment among Arabs in Israel
